Metric Spring Pin Heavy
Metric Spring Pin Heavy are also commonly known as rolled pins, slotted pins or tension pins. Manufactured from carbon steel, alloy steel and stainless steel with spring-like properties. The most common uses are in anti-chafing surfaces, locking devices, positioning points, sleeves or shafts for wiring. There spring nature is due to compression when inserted into a hole, causing its diameter to shrink. Once in place, the spring expands again and will press against the inner wall of its application. The force between the two keeps the spring pin in place. Some of the benefits of using spring pins are:
They can be doubled up to increase their strength.
They do not damage the application material.
They can be used in both through hole applications as well as blind applications.
They are easily installed using automated equipment or a hammer.
