Metric stainless steel flat washers are the most commonly used washers with stainless steel screws, bolts and nuts. Washers can be used to increase the bearing surface in conjunction with a bolt and can also relieve the pressure being applied on the fastened object. They are often used to as spacers and or insulators depending on the application and Type A affords a broader tolerance where precision is not critical and Type B has a tighter tolerance. Metric washers are available in plain/black, zinc plated, Stainless steel A2 and A4, nylon and Brass.
